Best Acoustic Guitar for Budget of $200-$299

When you are just learning to play guitar it is important to buy the best acoustic guitar you can within your budget. If your budget is fairly low, for example a budget of $200-$299, this does not mean that you have to settle for a poor quality, cheap acoustic guitar.

There are certain things to look for when you are purchasing your first acoustic guitar. These are qualities that a quality acoustic guitar will have, regardless of its price range and who makes them. Such attributes include the tone of the guitar, having a solid top and being made by a company that has a reputation for quality, dependable construction.

One of the best guitars that you can purchase in this price range is the Epiphone Dove. Priced at just $299, the Dove is made with a solid spruce top and maple body which gives her a great tone. She also has charm and grace in her style, which will have you smiling every time you look at her. But this is a big guitar and can be a bit much to handle for some people. So if you're of a slighter build (or are a younger player) you might want a guitar a bit smaller.

If you would rather have something easier to handle, you can get an Epiphone EL-00 for the same price as the Dove. Designed to imitate the Gibson Blues King (a very popular - and expensive guitar) the EL-00 is much easier to handle and can serve as a great first acoustic guitar. But these are by no means the only models to take into consideration.

Some of the best guitars for beginners can actually be had for less than $299. Take the Washburn WD 15S for example. This one has a solid Alaskan Sitka spruce top and mahogany body. Again, however, this is quite the large guitar and can be a little overwhelming. If you would like something just as nice (and the same price) you can opt for Washburn's WG16S Grand Auditorium. This one is smaller and easier to handle and is made just as well as its brother model.

But don't forget to consider either the Ibanez AC240 Artwood Grand Concert acoustic guitar or the Takamine GS330S, as both of these have the features (including a solid top, quality construction, and well-rounded tone) that are recommended for beginning guitarists. While they cannot dare to compare with the best acoustic guitar on the market, they can definitely be a great choice for those who are just starting their guitar playing careers. What's more, they also have a fairly good resale value, so that when you are ready to upgrade (or if you decide that guitar playing is not for you) you will be able to get some of your money back.

Purchasing the best acoustic guitar in your price range is an important step, even for a beginning guitarist. And choosing the right guitar can make the difference between your giving-up in frustration, or continuing to practice and learn and refine your skills. Be sure to research each guitar's attributes well by reading several guitar reviews before making your guitar purchase.
